September 12, 2013 - File submission change.  As a follow-up to a suggestion presented at the August 9^th MdAIR meeting regarding single term submissions, MHEC, after exploring the idea with institutions, has reexamined the file submission approach and decided to proceed with single term uploads.

• MAC2 Preliminary Edit and MAC2 File Submission is OPEN for CIS, DIS, ECS, EDS, EIS, FAIS, EOTS, SRS. Please submit one term file at a time. Please use this for MAC2 files only.  All MAC2 files are comma separated variable files with a .csv or .txt extension.  The first record is a header record.

• As a follow-up to a suggestion presented at the August 9th MdAIR meeting regarding single term submissions, MHEC, after exploring the idea with institutions, has reexamined the file submission approach and decided to proceed with single term uploads. This means, for example, what was previously a summer/fall combined file due by November 15th, will be separate summer and fall files, both due by November 15th. Similarly, a winter/spring combined file due by April 15th will be uploaded as an individual winter file and individual spring file, both due by April 15th. Term files can be submitted on the same day or different days as long as both are received by the due date. This single term upload approach will apply to all collection systems except the annual collections, FAIS and EDS.

 MAC2 Data Collection Header Records

•  ONE HEADER RECORD containing column headings (field names) is expected at the beginning of each data file.  This change as of 7/10/ 2013,  is a result of pilot testing.
•  MAC2 Header - Each system has a different header record.  Download below.
  Save the Header file to your network, open your data file and the Header file in Notepad , and copy the header to the top of the data file and save the data file as a .csv file.  If you are using Notepad "Save as" Enter ".csv" after the file name to create a .csv file when the "Save as type" is "Normal text file(*.txt)" or "All types(*.*)".
